Ways to Participate
Dear Foothill Families,
Please find below our plan to honor Foothill Teachers and Staff this coming week. Each day has a theme, but please pick and choose what feels right for your family. Some thought has been put into making this plan inclusive for everyone, and we hope this proves to be the case.
In addition to what's listed below, Foothill has a beautiful tradition of giving flowers to teachers and staff. Students are invited to bring in a flower (or flowers) from their garden (or elsewhere) any day of the week. Parent volunteers from each class are asked to assist with organizing the flowers into vases for their particular classroom. Additional volunteers are welcome to assist with bringing flowers to staff members who do not work out of a classroom. Please email Roxanne Enman (enman28@gmail.com) if you can help anytime during the week.

May 7-11: Please bring in one or more Flowers from the Garden, ANY DAY you choose.
May 7, 2018: Mmmm, Monday! A little Continental Breakfast
Mmmm, Monday! How often do we get excited about starting our week? Hopefully, some yummy breakfast items provided by your PTA - coffee, muffins, scones - will ease Foothill Staff into their day.
May 8, 2018: Tremendously Thankful Tuesday + a Chocolate Buffet
It's time to tell your teachers how much they mean to you. Share an example of what makes you thankful. In addition to your teacher, it would be very kind to remember Mr. Bosco, SEF teachers, Aides, the main office, custodial, and other staff, too!
PARTICIPATE #1: Chances are your teacher has taught you the READ, WRITE, DRAW technique to solve all sorts of problems (RWD). For today, choose how you'd like to share your message of thanks. Write a card, note or letter, draw a picture, or read the person you are honoring a poem you've written or a passage that captures how you feel. Another idea is to write kind chalk messages on the blacktop, or better still, say thank you face-to-face.
See if you can reach out to 3 or more staff members during the week! Above all, have fun!
PARTICIPATE #2: Let's sweeten the day for Foothill's wonderful staff and teachers! Feel free to bring a chocolate or other sweet treat of your choice (such as bars, brownies, cookies, truffles, etc.) to the Multipurpose Room (MPR) this morning (8:20-8:45 am) where volunteers will be waiting to deliver it to the staff room. THANK YOU!
*Volunteers are welcome to help organize all the goodies and transfer them to the Staff Room. Please join in!

Let's flood Foothill with compliments! Write a compliment that will make your teacher smile and all staff feel our gratitude. Find a door, leave a message, make a smile. How many doors will you find?
PARTICIPATE: MAKE COMPLIMENT CARDS

Have your child choose a shape (e.g., a heart, cloud, circle, square, etc.).

Cut out this shape to approximately the size of a hand and write a compliment on it. This can be one or more words (e.g., THE BEST, INSPIRING, DEDICATED, YOU MAKE SCHOOL FUN, THANK YOU, etc.).

Tape the shape to your classroom door.

Why not add a second to another door around campus? Room 2, Room 7, the computer lab, the library, Maker Space, the main office, etc. are a few ideas.

May 10, 2018: From the Heart Thursday
There are still 2 days in which to shower our Fabulous Foothill Family with the gratitude we feel for their dedication, hard work, and care that they continuously provide to our community.
PARTICIPATE: Please continue to write thank you notes and compliment cards that will brighten someone's day. Draw a picture, write a poem - send a message from the heart!
Parents, your words also matter! We have the best elementary school around. Please consider penning a note or Compliment Card as well! THANK YOU!
May 11, 2018: Fun Friday!
Let's finish out the week with a fun draw for special prizes for all of Foothill's wonderful staff.
PARTICIPATE: If you wish to donate anything extra (e.g., gift cards, stationery items, any other goodies an educator might appreciate), please email Roxanne Enman (enman28@gmail.com) to make arrangements. Volunteers are also welcome to deliver prizes to winning staff members during the day.
